Autism Therapy for Neurodivergent Adults & Families

At Curated Family Therapeutics (CFT), we provide neurodivergent-affirming therapy and consultation services for autistic adults, self-diagnosed and neuro-curious individuals, teens, parents, schools, and families. Our work is centered around helping clients better understand how their brains work so they can move through life with more clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.

What We Help With

Many of the adults we work with today were the same children who appeared academically capable but quietly struggled socially, emotionally, or internally for years without understanding why. They learned how to mask, over-accommodate, script conversations, push through burnout, or hide how overwhelmed they actually felt. Over time, that disconnect often turns into anxiety, relationship difficulties, emotional exhaustion, perfectionism, shutdowns, and chronic self-doubt.

We Work With:

Autistic adults navigating burnout, masking, anxiety, and relationships

Self-diagnosed and neuro-curious individuals exploring autism and ADHD

Parents of neurodivergent children feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsupported

Teens struggling with social stress, emotional regulation, or executive functioning

Schools and teachers needing practical support for burnout and well-being, classroom management, and professional development

Helping Clients Put Words to Longstanding Experiences

Our clients often come to us feeling misunderstood, not just by others, but also by previous therapists, workplaces, schools, relationships, and sometimes even by themselves.

They may struggle with:

Executive dysfunction, task initiation, and difficulty following through

Time blindness, organization challenges, and feeling constantly behind

Autistic burnout, social exhaustion, and shutdowns after prolonged stress

Communication differences, processing lag, or difficulty expressing emotions

Masking, people-pleasing, and feeling pressure to constantly “perform” socially

Emotional flooding, rejection sensitivity, and delayed emotional processing

Relationship strain, social isolation, or feeling misunderstood by family members

Sensory overwhelm, routine disruptions, or difficulty switching tasks and focus

Anxiety, perfectionism, all-or-nothing thinking, and chronic self-criticism

For many clients, finally having language for these experiences can be deeply validating.

Diverse minds, modern therapy.

Our Approach to Autism & Neurodivergent Therapy

We believe autism therapy should go far beyond surface-level coping skills or outdated stereotypes about what autism “looks like.” Our approach is collaborative, practical, relational, and grounded in understanding the full complexity of neurodivergent experiences.

We help clients better understand patterns related to:

Masking and social scripting

Communication mismatch and the double empathy problem

Monotropism and hyperfocus thinking styles

PDA profiles and demand avoidance

Emotional regulation and alexithymia

Relational burnout and social hangovers

Executive functioning and sustainable daily living
